WOW! What a day! The weather was fantastic, and I think everyone (Maybe apart from Steve T and Andy E) had a great days racing.
I've uploaded some of the photos I took here:

Well done to John, Harry, Sam and Kam for winning their respective trophies!
And... last but not least; thanks to Sally and Jim for organising the Races, and to Ben H for sponsoring the meeting.

Brilliant day!
For those that say Lap racing is not possible because of overheating....well....very very very hot day, not 1 thermal cut, batteries hot enough to start a new star system and yet the cars continued and the racing throughout was damn good fun!
SteveT's firework display was a memorable moment - IB4200's - Surprise!
Congratulations to Spike, a massive congratulations to Harry - 2nd - Cracking result there! Tip my hat to John Myall, 1st - how was that even possible! 14 mile deficit requiring mach 2 over nothing short of a grassy equivalent to the dark side of the moon - Amazing.
Well done Kam, good show and as you humbly pointed out a few times, you beat me!!!
I really think the meeting did exactly as it was designed, damn good fun and pretty exciting for everyone. Really enjoyed it! Thank you to everyone who came along, thank you to the weather and big thanks to Sal and Jim! - 4th Time lucky
Roll on the club champs! |

Hello all,
Despite having my hopes dashed with the spectacular flop that was the new suspension, and a very unexpected and unusual rear diff issue that did finish off my day, I actually had a really nice day out )
The suspension is proof that in most cases the simplist solution is often the best when it comes to off-road. Still it was a nice project and i'm very glad that I have done it and proved it not effective.
Funniest moment of the day for me was seeing bens car land off the table top and bounce backwards on landing almost to the top again! I've never seen that done before and rightly deserved the double thumbs up!
I'm going to come along again as soon as I can, but it wont be for a few weeks yet.
See you all again soon! |

First and foremost, a mighty big THANK YOU to Ben H. for sponsoring yesterday's meeting- it is much appreciated ol' chap!
Well, overall I think we got the Handicaps pretty much spot on, as shown by the final scores (though I think John could've done with a further half lap handicap ) . But for a retirement here and there, almost everyone would've been in with a shout; and the majority went away with at least a race win under their belt. Going into the last round of heats the top 12 were all in contention for a top three placing- can't be bad!
Congratulations to John, young Harry (what a star!) and Spike; and not forgetting Master Kam for his 'Driver of the Day' award. Well done, in fact, to everyone for making it a very enjoyable and successful days racing. Finally, a big thanks to Sal for lap counting and for the arduous task of sorting out the handicaps after each race- not the easiest of exercises, believe me! _________________ According to James Douglas Morrison 'the West is the best', but I'm stickin' with the 'East'! |

Yep, thank you Mr Hoobardo for putting up some silverware that got us all up for it!
As Jim said, it was so open and any one of us could have walked away with a trophy. Going into the last race, I knew a win could have secured me a prize...... only for young Harry to beat me, who as a result took overall 2nd place..... however it was great to beat Mr Hubbard over an identical start position!!
Kam actually enjoyed himself for once and [touchwood] seemed to be driving the best he ever has.
I really enjoyed giving the B4 a run out at last and look forward to the next time it get's a run out. The Durga made a brief apperence, as it came out for my final race... and yet again it really impressed me!
My Grandma only went and organised her Diamond wedding anniversary for the 25th of May.....so I won't get another chance to race now until June! See you all soon! _________________ Team Associated B44 |

Awesome day, big thanks for Ben, Jim and Sal or none of it would've happened
Such a hard days racing, never had to push so hard for 10 laps at a time, only to finish 4th in a race Like Jim said the handicaps were pretty much spot on, the times you heard "last lap, last lap, last lap" one after the other said it all, pretty sure I couldn't take another half a lap though Jim the car was roasting after each run
Ben, I feel for you and the ribbing you got from Kam, he got me as well, really desevered his driver of the day trophy
Felt bad for Andy breaking his car, must've pointed his Death Ray the wrong way this time
Just a really, really good day out, didn't even get sun burn either
