Did you read this over on oOple....

i used my b44 for the first time last night and after one small crash the shock shaft has snapped. has anyone had any problems like this before or is this just a freak failure. ( http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7337 )

I witnesed the same thing happen to Sams car. He clipped part of the track as he went into a corner and the shock shaft snapped just above the threaded section.

If you look on rctech.net, theres loads of chaps in the US having the same problem, also snapping shock tops, front shock mounts, and the most common one seems to be ripping the rear inner camber link ball studs out of the rear top deck, in fact most shops are out of stock of new top decks.

I built a B44 recently, and compared to my Yokomo, it seems to be made from chesse! you can see why its a £250rrp car compared to the Yok's old price of £400.

It must be the Thunder Tiger influence, I always thought Associated had a good rep for quality, but this is almost down at Schumacher levels of poorness Confused

You may be right there Jon. Mine is not going to be run much and i do like the look of the Atomic carbon bits for it.

The Atomic Carbon bits do look very nice, just not sure about the 2+2+2 cell lay-out, would still need to be able to fit the cells into other cars, don't fancy having 2 different sets of cells. Plus you can say goodbye to being able to run Li-Pos in it, and hard cased saddle pack Li-Pos are'nt supposed to be too far away Wink

Mabye AC will do a tub chassis with a normal cell lay-out Smile

If you had a pack made up as a 2+1+1+2 you would still be able to use them in your B44 or Yok Question

I wasn't so worried about fitting the cells in a 2wd Jon (already use cheapo £25 cells in that Wink

), more a normal saddle pack 4wd, if I was to run a B44 at Lawford, I would still need my trusty bomb-proof Yokomo BX as a back up, for when the B44 got scared and broke when it saw a jump, or a blade of grass Very Happy
