WELCOME TO LAWFORD BUGGY CLUB!

Originally known as Stourview Radio Control Car Club, the club was founded in 1989 by Jim & Sally Brotherton.
Meetings for 1:10 Off-Road buggies were held at Furze Hill, a public recreation ground in Mistley, Essex. In 1990 we moved to a purpose-built track at Mistley Environmental Centre, where we raced every weekend until 1995 and amassed a membership of over seventy. We were obliged to leave the Environmental Centre when the owners were unable to get planning permission for us to stay, and, after many fruitless attempts to find another suitable site, the Club was reluctantly disbanded.

In 2000, under our new name of Lawford Buggy Club, we began racing again at the Welcome Home Field in Mistley, and our membership rose to around 25 or so, but two years later we had to give up our piece of ground to Mistley Cricket Club, and were unable to continue racing.

In July 2005, we were offered the use of a site in Bradfield, Essex, by Tendring Hundred Water. With much help from previous and new Club members, grass and scrub was cut, a track laid and racing began in earnest on August 14th.
Our 5th Season at THW, Bradfield begins on March 15th with our annual "Handicap Trophy" meeting. We look forward to welcoming all members old and new.

NEW MEMBERS...
...you will find racing at LBC fast, furious, close but, most importantly, fun!
We have always maintained a close-knit, family-like atmosphere here, and you will find everyone friendly and only too happy to help you with any problems, so please ask!

Jim & Sally.
