LBC 2009 RULES & REGULATIONS

CLUB MEMBERSHIP, MEETING SUBS & BOOKING-IN

1 All Drivers are required to pay a £10 Annual Membership fee, payable within their first 3 meetings at LBC, except those 16 years and under for whom membership is free.

2
Drivers are also required to pay £3 subs for each meeting in which they participate. This goes toward track equipment and maintenance etc., and is payable on raceday.

3 Drivers wishing to participate in meetings must inform the Club before the 'deadline time' (see booking-in thread on website) on or before the Saturday preceding the event. This can be done by phoning (01206) 393437 or via this website.

4 Details of Car/s to be used and crystals to be notified to the Club when booking-in. Please make sure these details are included if booking-in via our website.

1:10 OFF-ROAD CONSTRUCTION & MEETING REGULATIONS

5 All cars must be of the 1:10 Off-road buggy type, and only 1:10 Off-road buggy bodyshells may be used.

6 All spur and pinion gears must be concealed beneath the bodyshell or by an appropriate gear cover.
Failure to comply will result in non-participation until rectified.

7 Each driver will be allocated a race number (for the purpose of lap counting) which must be clearly displayed on the bodyshell. This number will remain the driver's for all meetings at LBC.

8 Only 7.2 volt (6 cells, sub C size) or 2 cell LiPo batteries may be used.

9 There are no restrictions on motors, brushed or brushless, only that the appropriate capacitors are fitted to avoid interference etc. (If unsure please ask).

10 Drivers must have and bring to meetings:
At least two sets of (different) crystals and a means of charging their batteries (i.e. a 12 volt car battery).

11 The Time stated on Fixture Lists is the start time.
Drivers are expected to arrive well before this time, and on arrival must report to the organisers to pay their subs and reaffirm the car and crystals to be used, and to receive their individual 'Race Chart' (this confirms what races each driver will compete in and any crystal changes he or she must make).

12 A "Driver's Briefing" will take place approx. 5 minutes before the first race to advise Marshalling procedures and race format etc., for each meeting.

13 Unauthorised use of, or tampering with other competitors' equipment is strictly forbidden, and will result in disqualification from the meeting.

14 Transmitters will not be impounded, but anyone found to have their transmitter switched on when they are not racing may be disqualified from their next programmed race.

15 There will be an interval of 5 minutes between races, in which time drivers will be expected to have their cars on the line and be on the rostrum ready to race. A certain tolerance will be given, but frequent ditherers will be penalised at the Referee's discretion.

16 'Restart Line', Restarts & Handicaps.
A 'Restart Line' will be marked 25 metres from the Start line and drivers are requested to keep as straight a course as is possible until this line is reached. Any undue swerving may result in a restart and a handicap for the offender (see 'c' below).
Restarts. A race will only be restarted if:-
a) a driver false starts (in which case the offender's car will be placed on a handicap).
b)  a car is incapacitated (e.g. as the result of a crash) before the Restart Line is reached.
c)  the Start Marshal decides that an unsatisfactory start has ensued. N.B.- If the Start Marshal decides that an individual driver was the cause of the restart, then that driver's car may be placed on a handicap.
The Handicap will be approx. 30 metres.
There will be no restart if a car simply fails to start!

17 During a race, drivers must remain on the rostrum at all times and must not dismount until "Race over" has been declared. In the event of a breakdown, the offending car must be removed from the track (and may be fixed, where possible (see 26)) by a marshal. No driver may leave the rostrum to attend to his/her car during a race.
Failure to comply will result in the offender being excluded from his/her next progranmmed race.

18 Any driver who 'takes-out' an opponent must stop and wait until such a time that the opponent's car is back on track and is in front of the offending driver's car.
Failure to comply with the above may lead to disqualification from that race.
Any driver found guilty of deliberately "taking-out" during their race will be disqualified from that race.

19 Excessive use of foul language whilst on the rostrum will result in disqualification from the race.

20 A race will be officially finished by the Referee declaring "Race over".

21 At the finish of a race, drivers must drive their cars into the designated "run-off area". Once the car is there it must remain stationary  until collected by the driver after "Race over" has been declared.
Drivers must not race their cars back to the rostrum- they must be collected manually.

22 Drivers must not run their cars around the track or surrounding area once the meeting has started without informing the Referee. Also, before practice runs, check with other competitors to make sure that no-one else is on the same frequency (crystal).

23  Marshalling. All drivers will be required to marshal at some point during the meeting. The usual procedure is that a driver will marshal at the numbered marshalling post that corresponds to his/her starting position in his/her previous race (except where a driver has two races in succession). This will be advised/ confirmed at the "Driver's Briefing" prior to the start of the meeting.

24 Drivers failling to attend their marshalling posts when required to do so may be excluded from their next programmed race.
N.B.- Should a driver need to be excused from marshalling (to fix his/her car) then he/she must either:
a) inform and seek permission from the Referee, or
b) ask another driver to take his/her position at the marshalling post.
Providing the post is covered then all will be well!

25 Marshals are required to stay at their Marshalling posts until "Race over" has been declared.

26 Marshals may be deducted race points if considered by the Referee to be inattentive. Although it is usual practice for a marshal to attend to a car in need of repair (i.e. popped balljoints etc.,) he/she is under no obligation to do so. Failure to attend to an incapacitated car by a marshal whilst repairing another will be regarded as being inattentative.

27 Drivers owning two or more cars.
*
If a driver wishes to switch cars during the course of a meeting for whatever reason, then he/she must inform the Referee before doing so.
*see also "USE OF TWO OR MORE CARS DURING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS" below

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS

A MINIMUM OF 12 DRIVERS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP (OR TROPHY) MEETING TO  PROCEED. IN THE EVENT OF 11 OR LESS BOOKING-IN, THEN THE MEETING WILL BE POSTPONED AND RE-SCHEDULED FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE "RESERVED" DATE.

CLASS (2WD & 4WD) CHAMPIONSHIPS

2WD & 4WD Cars will race separately.
All drivers will have 6 qualifying races, each of 6 cars and of 6 or 7 laps duration.
Points will be awarded: 1st- 5 points, 2nd- 4, 3rd- 3, 4th- 2, 5th- 1.  6th or failure to finish- 0,
though points will be awarded (where applicable) if a driver has entered his/her last lap.
Points scored during the Qualifying races will count towards the 2WD or 4WD Championship (depending on what car the individual driver is using), and will also determine what Final and Grid position a driver will be in for the Club Championship.

At the end of the season, the drivers accumulating the most points in the
2WD and 4WD Championships will be declared Champions of their particular class.
Ten Best Scores from 15 rounds to count.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Points scored in the Finals at Championship rounds will only count toward the Club Championship.
The Top Six scorers from each class in Qualifying (Class Championship) will compete the 2WD "A" Final or 4WD "A" Final (depending on which class they competed).
The next six scorers (regardless of class) will compete for the mixed "B" Final, next six the "C" Final, and so on.
Scoring for the Finals will be as follows:
2WD & 4WD "A" Finals:  1st- 30, 2nd- 25, 3rd- 22, 4th- 20, 5th- 19, 6th- 18.
Mixed "B" Final:  1st- 15, 2nd- 13, 3rd- 12, 4th- 11, 5th- 10, 6th- 9.
Mixed "C" Final:  1st- 7, 2nd- 5, 3rd- 4, 4th- 3, 5th- 2, 6th- 1.

Drivers must come under starters orders in order to secure their due points in all Finals.

At the end of the season, the driver accumulating the most points will be declared "Club Champion".

Ten Best Scores from 15 rounds to count.

28
THE USE OF TWO OR MORE CARS DURING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS
AMENDMENT

A driver may only use a second car during a Championship round if the car is a) of the same Class: whereby the driver will simply carry on in their respective heats, or b) if swapping to another Class, will only be permitted to race in heats where there is not a full complement of drivers. i.e. a non-starter, etc. and only in a maximum of 6 heats minus the number of heats they have already competed in.
29 Their position in the Club Champs Finals will be determined by the car they intend to use in the Final, i.e. 2wd or 4wd, and only by the number of points gained by using the said class of car.

ANY CHANGE OF CAR MUST BE NOTIFIED TO AND APPROVED BY THE REFEREE.

30 ABANDONED CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS
In the event of a Club Championship Round being abandoned, then at least half the number of qualifying races must be completed before any points are awarded.
Where there are an odd number of qualifying races, then half will be one above half the number of races (i.e. if there are 21 qualifying races, then 11 must be completed).
If less than half the qualifying races are completed, then the meeting will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date.
*If half or more of the qualifying races have been completed, then awarded points will be calculated as follows:
Driver's points at time of abandonment divided by number of driver's completed races times 6 = points toward the Class Championships.
*In the event of such an abandonment, no points will be awarded for the Club Championship - the round will be null and void.

ALL OTHER MEETINGS
For all other meetings, the Race Format will be explained at the "Driver's Briefing".
