To true
there was one bloke in the 4wd A final missing the chicane nearly every time. Annoyingly the only time he went through the chicane when i was racing him was when he landed right on top of my car _________________ Lawford Buggy Club Champion 2009

No mate, you did'nt miss a thing! For future ref i would'nt recommend doing 2 classes in one day to anyone! I don't work that hard for living!!!
Indoor racing is really bad for my confidence! I just am waiting to crash all the time!!! Zip and ben are both a bit pro at it though, the speed Zip got round some of those corners was a joy to behold!
It was'nt the best run meeting in the world, the block who ran it, was swearing at little kids, starting races without all the cars and marshals and just letting himself and his club down, I won't be going back!
I will try again at indoor racing, but I don't think i;ll ever be as good at it as some of our other members! Well done chaps! |

Second Juddies view on the running of the meeting. Not the best but then we are spoilt around this way.
Doing two classes was just mad, especially as they weren't allowing any time for you to get your transponders from whichever numpty had not brought it back.
I do enjoy the indoor racing but you have got to drive it completely differentely to outdoors. You have to be really precise and slow is definetely fast in this case. If you try to force the car round you just run wide or smack the inner markings.
I do think that Newbury lay out a great circuit. You can actually drive and race the circuit without worrying that a jump or obsticle is going to bite you on the arse if you get it just a tiny bit wrong. I loved the crossover jump as well. I was able to get so much airtime that i could watch hubbard crashing on the back straight _________________ Lawford Buggy Club Champion 2009

I thought it was just me crashing, had no time to see anyone else race not even my Dan..
Will be doing Petit but i think that will be the limit of my indoor season this year.
We were also going to run in the mid south regionals but after the time it takes to get there and back we have settled to do the EOE condensed regional series instead.
Think we were all on the back foot from the start with getting there a bit late!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway always good to be with the away team but glad we missed the traffic and the free car parking .
Oh and by the way never try to follow Hubbard unless you are in a sports car as he never looks back to see if your still there
W.
Oh i also can do a nice cheep line in used buggy kit, as i still have lots that were left in my van (Lawford away team kit transport manager) _________________ Team External, with only the outside chance !

Its a pity that almost everyone had a negative experience, but I guess even the Newbury boys would admit the meeting was a bit of a nightmare.
They do say that they have fixed the problem with the lap counting problem but I know having no leeway on the start of your heat is annoying.
You should bare in mind that I do the same journey (in reverse) on regular basis and good or bad I still keep coming back..... _________________ Lawford Kart champion 2006 |

Looking at the Newbury results I was suprised at how close Dan got to me in the "C" final.
Watch for him this season he may spring a suprise...... _________________ Lawford Kart champion 2006 |

I don't think anyone of us are going to be suprised by Dan this year, we're all expecting him to do something good after the speed he showed at one of the WRS rounds _________________ Light a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day, but light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

Steve, reading this, I get the idea its not so much the trip that has put the lads off going back, after all they have done it before, but the fact that the meeting seems to have been run by monkeys
At least when you have made the same trip to race up here, you know the meeting will always be well run, and any bad meets you've had, are more to do with you keep on buying the wrong cars we all like chocolate, but not when our cars are made from it
