Tyre inserts

What tyre inserts do people use with mini spikes?

I've got some schumacher white (soft) & blue (?) & some unknown purple inserts to put in my yellow, green & blue mini spikes for the new season...

Just wondered what density inserts are suited to which tyres for our track?

My fav insert is the orange ones that come as standard in the grp minispikes.  I've used them in schumacher minispikes and love the feel of them.

Purple ones are pretty much defo the Edit mediums.

If you like Schumacher blue - I have a bucket load I am looking to shift.  Not offering any great deals, but considering I can get them to you  quicker than anyone and no delivery charge!!! Very Happy

I used blue Shums last year, but this year I am sealing tight and going for 18psi.

What insert are you changing to for 2009 Mr Hubbard?

I might be interested in some of your schumacher blues - I think that's what most of my old tyres have in.

Is there a general rule as far as inserts are concerned i.e. use soft inserts with yellows or soft inserts provide more grip or whatever?

I suppose it's like on a normal car. The insert is the air pressure. Smooth, high grip surface use plenty of pressure - or Firm Inserts for speed and performance.  Stuck in the mud, drop the pressure - or softer inserts and more traction.   But then there is Carcus Deformation. When they are soft and you go round a corner, the weight of the car shifts to the outside of the tyre making it's cross section triangulated. Therefore forcing it to understeer. If the insert is too big, it may cause the tyre to round at the centre, less contact patch and traction.

I will be using Edits and Blue Schums, not pressurised air.
