Oct 12: Club Champs Round 15

Hi All, Sorry we were late.
Best day so far for me at the club with winning my first race and the B final as well. Very Happy
Can not wait for next year now and hope to be at more of the meetings.
Thats all from me, off to bed now for some well earned sleep.
Wiggles.
John Myall

Not a bad day for me, even though I managed to break two cars Laughing  Nothing too serious, just need to shim the gears in the D4 a bit tighter next time, and the Hotshot will be back better then before, after I change the 23 year old turnbuckles for something alot newer and titanium Wink

The new car went pretty well for its first go, can't ask anymore of it, then to win its first race, which it did Very Happy

Well done to Phil on winning the 4wd A, first win for a Cat SX, and only the 4th different winner in 4wd this year, and well done to Paul on his first of what I'm sure wiil be many wins Cool
Atomic Dan

Yeh sorry steve what is going on with the X5 at the moment mate.
I want to get one to have a play but the situation with yours is making me think again.
Mind if it did not break i would have been robbed of my two wins today.
Do you want to try an S4 next week steve as i have a spare?/
Wiggles

Yeh, well done Jim on the 2WD 2008

A bit of an anti climax to the season for me: No grip in the 1st heat and erratic over compensation. Then heat 2, much of the same, followed by a 180 on the jump to set my wishbone up for the perfect storm and a break  that registered X.5 on the Richter scale. Heat 3, was a 4 feet off the start line retirement – in a rush to put the car back together somebody didn’t put the drive shaft in the cup!!! <enter name here> (for suggestions see *)

At this point feeling a little bit down, but here is where friends offer the support and the mental lift one requires at times like these.

First to step up to the plate, Harry.  "Ha ha - I'm beating you!"

The next lift was a combined effort. Starting with John who raised his concerns with team mates It was not long after that I received a text message from Mr East, who proceeded to call me Wally Chops* for discharging the wrong cells. Grateful I was that time had been taken and the 10p expense to ensure that I regained that positive feel.

The sun was out, the car was handling better and with grip slowly returning it was at this point the Finals were here.

Zipper voiced his hopes that BenC would fail to finish higher than 4th, therefore opening the door for my possibility for a 3rd Place club champs finish. Only to conclude that this "down to the wire" result would then have me finish 6th in the 4WD Final, offering the good laugh Zipper was actually hoping for.

Needless to say Mr Chester finished 3rd. This was the bullet for the lame horse and I was finally out of my misery, there was nothing that can be done now. Congratulations Ben, well deserved.

Now off to the 4WD A. From 4th, get up to first. Phil and his black tiger are going very well and the pressure is on. We are about to enter the last lap - AND I FALL OF THE TABLE TOP!!! Upside down and the Panther slips past. I cry noooooooo.  It's at this very point Steve T decides to join the long list of supportive comments with not words but something greater, more powerful, yes, laughter, lots and lots of riotous laughter.

And so was the climatic finish of the club champs.

Retribution at the masters? No. A long winter of scheming, planning and preparation for next season, Yes!

Crunchienator – I’ll be back!  Cool

I wouldn't mind trying an S4 but the battery configeration is different.
As for the Diff issue its more likely to be my inept building technique rather than any issue wuith the car.
Also, well done to Harry for making the A
ben

Firstly, congratulations to Jim for clinching the 2wd title - well deserved. Just when we were thinking the old boy was losing it last season - he comes back & beats us all Wink

Apologies to those I barked at during the first couple of 2wd races & the final - the pressure was getting to me a little. You just don't realise it's toy cars in a field when you're up on that rostrum! Embarassed

Well done to Phil for winning the 4wd final with the wonderful Cat SX, would have made my life a lot easier had I known he was going to beat the Hubbard.

I can only dream of having a cat that doesn't sh!t in the garden & leave hairs all over the carpet.

And finally, Thurlborne. It's clear, slimey & comes in a little tube. You must have loads of it - so put some in you're diff!

That's right - DIFF LUBE
LBC

Thanks Spike, Paul & Ben C - it's nice to be acknowledged!....
...and well done to Spike and Phil on their maiden "A" Final wins - the first of many for both of you i'm sure!
PHIL

Well done Jim you're a super star  Wink

Lets hope we can get the amb system for next year so you can defend your title!!
Very Happy
