NOV 18: EAST ANGLIAN TEAM CHALLENGEA hearty and WARM thank you to all those who braved the cold from LBC and Coastal for a really great tournament!
Despite the extremely cold weather, the racing was fast and exciting, and the final score does not do justice to Coastal, all of whose team members raced very well, and the result could well have been a lot closer. (Bit unlucky with some of your jokers, Coastal!)
A special thank you to Tim R, who gallantly stood as reserve, and was only able to take part in one race. Despite that, he marshalled whenever needed, and provided support and encouragement. Much appreciated, Tim!
Well done (of course!) to the victorious Lawford team- you all put everything into your races, despite a few breakdowns- and to the top-scoring trophy winners, Chris C, George W and James B, and to Chris C (again) for winning the FTD cup.
Both team captains- Brad for LBC (great to see you racing again, Brad- you haven't lost your touch!) and Paul for Coastal did a terrific job of organising their respective teams, and helped to keep everything running smoothly and efficiently.
Next year, it has been suggested that we run the event over two legs, home and away (speedway style), which I think is a great idea, with one proviso- we hold it in the SUMMER!
It was lovely to get home to be in the warm again- and by 2pm, too- but I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting, and hope you all did as well. It was a real pleasure to act as hosts to our Ipswich Coastal 'cousins', and I am certainly looking forward to next year's two-leg challenge, when I daresay Coastal will wreak their revenge as we struggle on the slopes!
Thanks again, everyone- a great meeting.

Despite the lack of sleep, the freezing cold weather, It was a great meeting again.
Really looking forward to next years, especially in the SUMMER
Thanks to all, especially TimR who is always very generous with assistance!
All the top points trophy winners may have to send a nod to Zipper who, had he have not handed a race over to Tim through generosity, would have been top point scorer of the day.
Please send a little gratitude my way too, as I had to console him through 3 hours of sobbing. I think he is OK now that I have removed all rope and sharp objects from his house!

It was a great meeting.... especially as the rain held off for us!
Lot's of close racing and a few races won and lost on the final corner; George beating Ben C with a all or nothing attack on the final corner was one of the highlights. Ben H then tried to copy this manoeuvre in attempt to beat Trevor's Losi and somehow managed to avoid the ramp and most of the course! Very funny to watch.... and Ben was rightly disqualified!

Thanks again to all for your words of thanks and it was a pleasure i was just pleased to be able to run the b4 even for the practice laps and when given the chance to run in a heat was appreciated.
Well Done to Lawford boys and also a well done to ipswich as well for putting up a great effort . Was good to watch the races especially the first few laps you all crept over the table top and then the confidence grew ( or the pressure ) resulting in launch style across it .A big thank you to Jim and an EVEN bigger one to Sal for sitting there all that time in that weather pen in hand ....
thanks to those who offered their advice on the car ( Ben C ,John M and others whom i probably havde forgotten)

It certinly was a good day, even though it was cold enough to shrink certin body parts!
Well done to the Ipswich team for showing up and driving really well on a strange track. At least they had the guts to turn up unlike a couple of other clubs, you know who you are
Good to see Brad make a strong return to racing after months being a Dad, didn't look like he'd lost any speed.
It did get a bit too close points wise at one point when a few of us had some issues, Chris and I forgeting that electric buggies could do with charged batteries to race! Andy for having some XXX4 moments, Brad for forgetting that screws tighten up for a reason and Ricardo, who at one point looked like he'd forgoted how to drive
Next year will be good to run it over 2 legs, we'll get to show then it wasn't just local track knowlage that got us the win, and hopefully in the warm.
