Sounds like a good plan! With a bit of luck we shouldn't hold each other up. The cat will find a warm spot and have a kip, the BJ4 will be tumbling across the universe and I should have a nice clear track!

Just checked the calendar. I am taking my younger brother to see Bullet for my Valentine the night before.
I have some logistics to iron out!

|
Who's going? Both days or one? I'm keen to book in and come play, just want to know enough of you guys are making the trip over. Sweet
|
BenH
|
So far
Me
Zipper
Phil
SteveT
BenC
and possibly George Fairweather.
Al, are you travelling there from the West?
|
Alfonzo II
|
I'll be coming down from Oswestry. So that's more from the North i suppose..
|
ben
|
I've not booked in as yet.
Waiting to hear back from the BRCA about membership....
I'm not a member at the moment & the entry form asks for a BRCA number.
And the website is in between 2008 & 2009 entry forms!
|
Alfonzo II
|
I don't think I'm a member either. Can you let us know what they say Ben?
|
BenH
|
It will be the same membership number you had from last year.
Sign up for 2009 - Might as well as LBC is (Jim will correct me if i'm wrong) going to BRCA affiliated next season.
That way you can enter, and besides, as long as your membership is completed for next year, you'll be covered for either 2 to 3 races as a guest this year anyway. (Once again, i hope to be corrected if this is untrue )
|
BenH
|
Oh yeah - travelling.
Zip and I went together last year. George is keen this year. If you like I can get the beast (5 seats) plus we can get all the gear in the back.
Myself, Zipper, George, BenC and if your on your own Phil we can squeeze you in too - although may have to look to meet somewhere as it's going to be very early start. Leaving it 6am is painful enough without a jolly jaunt to Halstead
BenC and I can load up the night before. Zip and George can get there gear in the morning and if there's somewhere convenient near the A12 for yor good self Phil we can get you on the way down.

Sounds good! if you want you could pick me up from McDonald's at tollgate that way i could leave my car there and also have some breakfast
|

So is it just the Sunday for 4wd chaps?

I will certainly join you. 3 x Sausage and egg Muffin meals and that's just for me. Whilst I am all for McDonalds falling into an abyss, I would be inconsolable should I not be able to feast upon their might Muffins!
It's a date!

Yep. We have to save our beans. It looks like Petit could be coming to the UK. Might be south it might be north, but there are options on the table and that will be another venture for the adventurers! Who said the winter was just for Christmas! Or was that dogs? Nope, a CAT is for racing not just for christmas. Yep that's the one. It's late, goodnight!

I've got to check with work, but I'll be in!
I'm up for doing both days, if anyone else is, i might have a place for us to stay!
|
Alfonzo II

Think I'm going to book in for this. It'll be the Sunday only for me. Looking forward to it.

Heard back from the BRCA....
My name is still linked to my 2007 BRCA number, therefore I book in with that number, then at the beginning of November I re-join for 2009 which covers me for november/december this year also - no problem!
So, I'm definitely in!
Should be the same situation for you Alfonzo (providing you joined in 2007).
|
Alfonzo II
|
Coolio, pretty sure I did. How would I find out? Assuming I can't find my membership card
|
ben
|
Jim would know, he knows everything!
|
SteveT
|
Don't forget guys, you will need to bring your own tables and chairs
|
BenH
|
I am borrowing a table and chairs that we can all share. Please bring a towel, the scratches could be costly!
|
Alfonzo II
|
Are you bringing your butler Ben, or shall I ask my staff to accompany us?
|
BenH
|
I was, but in the hope your obedient staff are of the opposite gender to said butler, I am willing to offer Jeeves a day off.
|
Alfonzo II
|
My scullery girl will keep you entertained all night Mr Hubbard, she bangs like a barn door in a gale..cough.. anyway - I best go book in to this confounded MK Grand Prix malarky.
|
Alfonzo II
|
Cool - I'm booked in for Sunday. I put myself in as ability 4. Have you seen some of the names booked in? There's some big guns entered! No pressure.

Good man!
Big guns - We'll show 'em
|
Juddy
|
I'm in, both day massive!!
|
ben
|
I put ability 6 - hopefully enough to keep me out of the bottom heat.
In my experience you get dragged down to that level - it was like a destruction derby in heat one at the Petit!

Mr Chester
Keep me posted on the spare car requirement cheif.
As it's a mixture between high and low grip, I would assume that with the exception of a slight adjustment on ride height you pretty much want it as LBC?
It has a one way lay, but I can switch it to front diff. ?
It has a 5.5r in their, but there is an option to have a 6.5r?
Also, I am not going to change my rating, I think it would be better we were in different heats - 2 reasons, you can use the S4 and I can use the ZX in the event of disaster and also, our racing this year has been so close, I don't want us to get in each others way!
It has a Spektrum rx in there. I can't remember what tx you use?
Or you are more than welcome to alter the set up yourself. Probably best do it here as I have the parts (Somewhere )
Anyway - keep me posted and we'll sort it out. In a way, I want you to run it. GO TEAM CRUNCHIE!

Mr Hubbard
Current situation is that Steve T has bought & paid for the x5 (sensible to have a back up car when he's driving 200 miles every week)....
I'm going to give it two weeks, if there's no sign of the 'plastic destroyer' by then I might have to have a re-think (CML quoted 2 weeks but I remember the B44 fiasco at Petit last year (deja vu))!
If I don't buy a CAT or a Predator , then your offer would be gratefully taken up
I run Novak GTB speedo & motor with Sanwa radio - as long as there's a speedo, motor & servo in there, the receiver only takes seconds to put in.
In the event of disaster, I'll have a 2wd ready to go at the meeting as back up regardless (if you break two cars you might end up racing my buggy!)
Cheers for the offer
|
ben
|
As for set up....
Judging by my performances at the Petit & the LBC Indoor meeting I clearly have no idea about indoor car set ups at all!
As for motors, I'd run 6.5 in 4wd & 7.5 in 2wd on all that slippery stuff - but as I said, what do I know
|
SteveT
|
Ben
You can always use the X5. I have a spare belt
|
BenH

LBC INVASION ALERT
There are now 10 of us booked in for Newbury -
Zipper
Ben Chester
Steve T
Judster
Steve C
Steve B
Al Rich Tea
Phil J
George (Honoury LBC )
Benjuano!

Alfonzo II
|
YES! Looks like we can fill a final on our own..which one though?
|
ben
|
Only one more required & we're guaranteed not to fill the bottom final!
Come on JohnM & AndyE - we need the big guns (We can always bring a blanket to put over the AED4's!)
|
SteveT
|
I will be aiming to get there at 07:30 so as to get a decent pitting space.
I would suggest that everyone else does the same as it can get a little cramped.
Ben C, Do you need to use the X5 ....or have you bought the new car yet.
The Cat SX is in stock at MK but the B-Max is cheaper even with the racer kit..........
|
ben
|
Steve,
I've removed all my gear form the X5 now...
I know what a pain it can be testing & setting up the cars at these meetings (especially when they impound the transmitters).
So I'd rather have a car running properly before I get there.
Thanks for the offer but I doubt I'll need it
I should have a car sorted by then (whether it be a B-Max, CAT or a used D4), failing that I have an offer to drive the Lazer, failing that I have a 2wd.
Do you know if MK have the B-Max in stock yet or when it is expected?
|
SteveT
|
Ben
MK says that they are expecting them before the end of the month but this has not been confirmed. However, MK are in CML's hands on this one.
Also there is a possibilty that the kit may only be available in basic form to start with and the racer kit would be sent later.
To be honest, even with the racer kit, The yok looks like a plastic fantastic and would need further updates.
The cat would not need any immediate updates and is available now so you could tune it and maybe even run it prior to the MK meeting.
However, this is just my opinion and I can't even build a diif right....
|
Alfonzo II
|
Ben, In the absence of a Broco Wasp, AED4, B4000 or other such exotic - it has to be the CAT SX, surely?

Schumacher yellow mini-pins seemed to be the tyre of choice at the last one.

You'd have to move it outside and on grass before you'll get me there
I really hate indoors buggy racing, even though I won the odd indoor Championship in the past
|
BenH
|
It is outside and on grass. It's just that they put a couple of walls round it and a roof. Also, to protect the grass there's a bit of carpet and some wood.
Book in and we are guaranteed an LBC member not to be in the bottom final!

What do you mean no bottom final.
It's the law - LBC on tour!!! Only Zipper has defied this rule and look what curses have plagued him the following season! So be it at your peril!
