MAY 24TH: CLUB CHAMPS ROUND 6Well, I thoroughly enjoyed the day and despite a couple of non-starters the marshalling went very smoothly.
A BIG pat on the back to Steve C on winning his first (of many!) 2wd Champ Rounds and Club Champ Finals; and to Steve B and John for their respective first places; and a final many thanks to John for the use of his car etc., and for being my pit bitch for the day!

I thought it was a great day.
After toiling for hours and hours and hours, something as simple as the conductivity of a Carbon Fibre Chassis was the undoing of what I hoped to be a good meeting with the improved S4. 1st Heat and Poof - up in smoke.
Then after an emabarrasing and stroppy little episode and a 5 minute sulk with the better half telling me to stop be a child It was back out with the Yok.
Oh dear.
A new motor in there that didn't want to talk to the ESC - LRP and Novak having a timing issue. However, lady luck was looking down, as in the last heat, SteveB had car problems and it gave me the win and enough points to get onto the last spot of the A. With a retirement, and Jim having some bad luck and ending up on his roof gave me 3rd in the final.
Then it was out with the Trucks. That was good fun. Really hope a few more make a trip out in future. Should make for some comedy races.
Sorry for my rant. I have many reasons for it, but not a single excuse. See you next week, with an "insulated" and cooled esc and temperament.

It wasn't the ESC that went poof. It was the chassis. ESC doesn't look pretty but early tests show it's in working order.
Slight adjustment and this could be up and running for next week with all of 30 minutes labour.

I really enjoyed myself, starting to feel more like me again, after a few personal problems lately, hernia op, etc.
Good weather., great track, and some great racing.
Well done to the two Steves for their first A Final wins, SteveC for his win in 2wd, about time someone stopped George hopefully it won't be the last win either. Nice to see my old X6 doing what its supposed to do, winning, instead of collecting dust on my shelf.
And SteveB, who is always fast, and took a good win in 4wd, hopefully (for me) not the first of many Next time I'll do an extra fast lap at the end just to make sure I've finished, instead of backing off a lap early, but thats the outcome of having 2 cars with the same colours in one race!
Nice to see SteveT (lots of Steves this week) back, and to see him finish races for a change!
Also nice to see Hubbard throw his toys out of the pram, instead of me doing it, Ben, now you can join the "Paddy Club"
Watching the SC10s of BenH and George was great, want one myself now.
Jim, glad you liked the car, as for "pit bitch", I did bugger all to it all day, just put batteries in it, the old thing is always nice and reliable.

Are you able to put the video of the trucks up on youtube if they are any good. You need to get yourself one john. Words can't describe how satisifying it is to overtake hubbard whilst in a four wheel drift, kicking up dust under the crossover, and hit the apex perfectly, unfortunatly i think it was only jim that saw me do it.

George, not sure about YouTube, it was all I could do to get it on to my PC, then find out where it had hidden it on the hard drive
To be honest, it isn't a very good vid, I zoomed in a bit, thinking the trucks were looking small, watching it back, they looked fine, for a couple of laps untill I zoomed, then the quality went down hill big style
They do look awesome though
