MARCH 16: CLUB CHAMPS ROUND 2

Well, I must say that I was rather miffed that we abandoned the meeting  so early (12.45), especially in view of the fact that at that time (the wind apart) the weather wasn't as bad as it was when we started. I think we should have at least battled on and concluded the qualifying heats. It's somewhat unsatisfactory to be awarded points and, although I shouldn't complain as I inherited a good score, I'd have preferred to earn them by racing. I'd have rather we abandoned the meeting altogether and re-run it at a later date.
That said, I can understand drivers wanting something for their efforts,  having braved the elements. Therefore, the Class Championship points have been worked out by the drivers score (at the time of abandonment) divided by the number of races each had had at that time, times 6 (the number of races they should have had). For the Club Champs I've awarded everyone who attended points based on their Class scores, regardless of whether they would have come under starter's orders or not, as some reward for their efforts. There, that's that, and I hope it all makes sense!
Phil, I was quite impressed with Harry's debut, but we're gonna have to gag him if he doesn't stop yapping on the rostrum!! Laughing
Anyway, many thanks to all those who braved the wind and rain, in particular Mark, who was dragged in to the meeting and helped out with the marshalling- what a guy!

I agree with Jim - would have prefered to carry on. The weather brightened up after we stopped - it always does!

I bet it still took the same amount of time to clean the cars....

Can't complain about the points though - I bet it's the best score I'll get all season!

Gutted it was called off... and don't really know why it was?  It had stopped raining!  Confused

..... really enjoyed the 2hrs it took to clean the mud, grass and dirt out of the car!  Bring on the rain!  Laughing

From another perspective - oh how biased we can be Laughing  -  I was glad it was called off. Freezing cold, wet through and a car in real need of some TLC. I remember last season on one meeting it rained, I was driving really well, people were dropping like flies and I was going to score high and it was cancelled. I think this way it was quite fair for the drivers on the day.

It was not a good day for the S4. It's not talking to me at the moment and said quite clearly through the medium of clicks, knocks and bangs, that under no circumstances is it going to race until I take it to pieces and rebuild it to it's former glory - Roll on the bank holiday weekend!

Forgot to mention

A big thank you to Juddy, Jim and Alex - Once again track side assistance was exceptional. I forgot to bring my minispikes and only had minipins. Juddy, yours will be cleaned and returned this Sunday!
Wink
Thanks again. Very Happy

Ben, would you like a personal mechanic to take care of your baby during the week?

Are you saying you do not have faith in Ben's ability to return his car to it's former glory?  Laughing

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr! Embarassed

I'm another who would've liked to carry on, I was already cold and wet, the car wet and covered in half a field, it wasn't like we'd only just got there and everything was still spotless. Still at least by giving points on an average we didn't waste time, or risk the cars for nothing. Who knows, run it another day, and it would've chucked it down anyway, Round 2 might've been supposed to be wet Laughing

Still I enjoyed myself, always like driving in the rain, just the clean up thats not much fun, poor old B44 is sitting here looking like the Titanic sitting on the bottom of the Alantic!! did the the wheel bearings in WD pretty quick though, so finger crossed they'll be ok. This car does seem to have ALOT of little places for muck to get in and hide, theres a bird's nest behind the front shock mount!

Looking forward to this weekend Smile

Zipper - Fair point - Is your address still - Lord Mock, Castle Mock, Mount Mock, Nr Mock-on-Sea, Mockinghamshire. SH17 8AG Laughing

Jim - I am caught between doing it myself, and learning a few lessons on car management, and developing a relationship between the car and myself and in turn building confidence, which will take time and effort. Or passing it to you. I would like to accept your offer!  Very Happy I will give it clean later today and drop it off tomorrow if that's ok. It's going to need some parts too, which I will get on order from the cheeky trader at mungo!

There is no manual, but the majority of the car is the BJ4... so you can get the manual from the JConcepts site....
