LiPo's - BRCAI noticed on the trakpower website, they have BRCA approved on a couple of the stick packs. - I assume this is for the touring cars. But because the silly scare stories irritate me and I would like us all to embrace new technology
From the BRCA: -
......These warnings can be a little ‘scary’, and they should be as Li-Poly packs can be very dangerous if not handled correctly. However, please try and keep this information in perspective. Kitchen knives and chip pans can also be very dangerous if not handled properly and there will probably be more injuries caused by scalpels or super glue in eyes than batteries. The following precautions should help you enjoy using Li-Po batteries without having a major incident.
So in the great words of Martin Luther King: -
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of RC: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all cells are created equal.'"

After doing my first meeting on LiPo power, I've got to say that if your opposed to LiPos in Buggy racing, then you are King Of The Numptys
They are, along with Spektrum and brushless, simply the way forward.
They are cheaper then "normal" cells, you don't have to make them into packs, so people who can't solder don't cock it up, to me, the cars drive nicer with them, you don't need as many packs to do a meeting, I used 3 yesterday to do the 7 races, instead of the 7 packs of boring old "normal" cells I would've used, the cars don't get as hot inside, since you've lost those huge lumps of heat called batterys, no need to discharge and balance, simply brilliant things.
