AUGUST 31: CLUB CHAMPS ROUND 13What a day.
The 4WD was as tight and as close as the 2WD. I think, and I hope one is not biased on ones appraisal, but I think that was the best 4WD this season!
I am absolutely chuffed to bits the ZX was competitive today. For two reasons: -
1 - the car was built and set up good enough for Andrew to demonstrate his driving skills; and
2 - A FINAL and 5th place FINISH. Well done chief!
This is amazing considering 1 - He has race only about 4 times in the last year. Only started racing 18months ago and has in total no more than 30minutes track time in his entire time of RC Racing up until today because of the nightmares he had before. Brilliant.
I - and this may sound untrue, but seriously - was gutted Phil had flat batteries in his car for the last race today to decide Pole position. Would have been great to tough that one out.
The racing was tight and considering how close it all was, was clean and tidy. Brilliant.
Unlucky to Spike who bust his car on the blades of the mower. Unlucky to BenC who had his leg nearly broken by Andy S's car.
And funny moment of the day was seeing BenC marshalling, from a chair, with no shoes on and an Ice Pack in his sock! I don't want to laugh, but it was funny!

What a day indeed
There was some excellent racing today and i must admit even though the overall results for me weren't that great I had one of the best days racing ever!!
An idea though! when it's a small turn out the races are close together and i did find it very difficult to manage mine and Harry's cars perhaps in future we could have a 15 - 20 min break half way or something just to help me breath!
Well done to everyone a great days racing

Good old God came through for us.. the sun shone happily all day!
It was an awesome day's racing... the racing in the 4WD heats was just so close! It was heart pounding racing all day. Brilliant stuff!
I have a feeling Botch may be updating his signature very soon....

I was about to write - "because I was too eager to stop the clock" - But after checking, there's no way I was 6 seconds too eager.

Yes, well done Mr Emrich. You were flying with the Botch-ZX5! Give up the footy and get yourself a new ride for next season!

Sweet X-Factory X-6, 6 seconds quicker then BenH, Fact , good result for a car that was handling really evil early on in the day, only had 4 points after the firts 3 races thought about going home at one point, to order a slower motor, as it seemed way overpowered (as if there could be such a thing ), but then found a good direction to take the set-up, and it worked
It was good to get to race the X-6 for a change, only tried it once before at the Braxted Regional, and that was a bit hit and miss that day, but today, it was alot of fun racing with different people from normal, hard, but fun
4wd was great to watch, don't normaly get to see the races, but today they were mega close, some races had 4 or 5 people who could win, much like 2wd has been most of the year
Good to see Ryk racing again, and he hadn't lost any of his speed

What a fantastic day!
I can safely say that I'm back in love with RC racing, I can't believe I spent as long as I did trying to get that XX4 to work!
I would just like to thank Ben for all the work he put into getting the ZX into a drivable state (something he never managed when he was using it himself), as without his constant "go on, give it another try" I may well have hung my transmitter up for good, such was my disillusion with it all.
Anyway, enough about me, it was a great day's racing, the 4wd was brilliant to watch, it all ran like clockwork, and the weather was lovely. Could it have anything to do with our newest member?

Great meeting apart from the fact that my ankle has swollen up & I've now got a limp!

By far the best meeting of the year.
My problem is now that Lee has an 11 point score to drop and I have a 14.
This means that I have to outscore him by at least two points to keep third.
Then I have to do it again in the last round.
No pressure then.......

But!!!
If I outscore you by two points in the next round then we will go into the last round half a point apart.
Then its about who beats the other....

Thanks to all for a very enjoyable day, it was good to see a few faces that i hadn't seen since the shop closed. The racing throughout the field was great to be part of and also to watch - everyone seemed quick and you really couldn't pick a winner from any of the races.
I'm looking forward to my next meeting already, which should be the pairs (if i can persuade Uncle Bob out of retirement)
Well done to the winners - John (FTQ with a 2WD ) & Ben
Doesn't LiPo make life easier......i might treat myself

That was in my view the best overall display of buggy racing ever seen at LBC!
The 4WD drive boys have taken it up a level, and in the space of a few meetings got theirs car consistant and are driving fast and smooth! I liked the way that you all gave each other space and time to let the race develop, I think it because you guys have the same mix of respect, with a bit fear for each other now that we have in 2WD.
Speaking of which what a mixed bag that was I think it really is a case that you can drive well in 2 races, win one and come last in the other ( not trying to say i drove well yeasterday). And with Matt, George and the allusive Mr Coles not even there! Its crazy!!
Well done to John! who came back stronge and set a FTD that I'm well up for trying to beat, but I think anyone would be doing very well to acheive! and for the TQ and final win!
It was great to see Ryk racing 2WD, it suits his style and he was super quick for the first time out with a B4!
Long may it continue, and with a few up and coming drivers in each class, I think that LBC could soon have some very fast boys indeed!

Phew! That's got to be one of the best LBC meetings of all time!
The racing was absolutely incredible, both 2wd and 4wd.
John certainly showed us why he's Club Champion with a masterly display of driving the X6 -once he'd tamed the beast to his liking; and the 4wd races were a joy to watch, as were the couple of 2wd races I was able to spectate.
Poor ol' Phil's gremlins struck again: once when he looked set to top the qualifying scorechart, and again in the final when comfortably in 2nd place behind Ben H.
A bit of a topsy-turvy day personally. I started off well but, alas, went backwards as the day unfolded
The 2wd crown is still on offer to any one of the top 4, but most of the pressure's now on Ben C, Matt and Juddy as they can ill afford to drop many more points.......the heat goes on!
Driver of the day? -well, apart from the obvious (John), I'd have to say Ryk! Let's hope we see a lot more of him.......racing that is!
Anyway, enough waffling, well done to everyone for an exceptional days racing!

Thank you for the kind words Jim
Maybe I can repay you, by trying to steal points from your competition, the car will only get faster as I get used to it, after all, that was only the second time its been raced

Does this mean another 2WD outing for the X6 at the next club champs?

Very likely
It depends on if I get my new toy ready before the end of the season, if that happens, then I might give that a go, but it would be nice to do a bit more 2wd, the car is really nice to drive now that it isn't a B4 anymore

If I wanted to do that, I wouldn't have bought it now would I
Plus I want to hit the ground running next year, non of the new car problems I had at the start of this year.
Although, if the other bits I'm waiting on, don't come, there will be no choice but to wait

I have something even better. 20 shares in the holding company for the B2000 design and patents. Speculation has it that it will be worth double that again. I'll get them printed tonight if you like?
