"2010 EAST ANGLIAN GP SERIES"

I have pm'd Paul at Coastal with this proposal for next year, so's to continue (in some way) with the SEN Series, but under a new title (as above), and here it is:

Each Club holds its own Off-Road Championship, with the best 8 scores from 12 rounds to count.

Mixed qualifying for the Class Championships.

6 cars per race, 6 races each, scoring 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 with each driver dropping their worst score, giving a maximum of 25 pts.

Separate "A" Finals for the Club Champs, scoring 25, 20, 15, 12, 11, 10;
and a mixed "B" Final scoring 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1.

East Anglian GP Series

Each driver's 6 Best "Finals" scores at "each venue" to count towards the EAGP Series, with trophies for the Top 3 in each Class!

Any comments?

So it's linked into each club's club champs?  If so, I think it's a cracking idea as it would encourage people to go race at the other clubs.
BenH

Is that 6 best scores from each club? Or is that 6 in total?
LBC

6 Best scores at each Club, Ben.
No. 46

Sounds great to me. Will the racing at coastal be the same format as lawford, with the 6 races and one final, or the current 3 qualifiers and 3 finals.
LBC

It would have to be 6 and 1 Final, if possible, George.

I like the sound of it - mixing up the club champs from the different clubs.  The scoring/ format may need a rejig.  I know from the WRS that loading the timing software with a predetermined race formats is very time consuming.

What if Coastal were to run their format as usual and transpose the final days standings into the 25 to 1 format for the champs.  That way it's the same result, but easier to work.

Personally, (at Coastal) I would really like to see the National format put in.  No points for qualy - except 1 bonus point for top qualifier.  3 Finals, and 130 points down for the final standings after all 3 rounds.   I think it's fairer and strikes a good balance.  I think that the starting grids should be bigger and offer more of an advantage to each place attained.  It will reduce the first corner pile ups too. (Then transpose the results into the 25-1 finishing list as per Jims format above.)

George, disregard what I've said. BenH is correct, as long as the points can be transposed, then there's no reason for Coastal to change their format.

I like the idea, like Zipper said, both clubs should gain from it, if it helps gets off-road racing in this region back to the levels it used to be, then its all good.
