Firstly a big thank you to Paul/ EWS for the sponsorship!
I think it was a really good meeting today, full of ups and downs and I think I had a battle with everyone today. Some I won, some I got stuffed, some were exceptionally close - Steve B - and some used their wiley ol' track craft and made their car appear 4 times wider than it really was! Jim . 2 extra wheels of drive and a silly quick motor is not enough to match experience, (Can you send me the part number, I'll see if microtech has some in stock!)
Then there was Ryk! Could you go any quicker, that damn car Everytime I saw that coming any where near me, sheer panic set in! Brilliant drive today!
Did anyone count the amount of times someones wheel rolled off today. I am sure it was a world record!
Mr Emrich. Unlucky today. But I am sure it's just track time, or hunger! . A few more rounds and it will be there. It was the bumpiest buggy ride since NASA's last jaunt across the moon surface.
Edit:
Oh yeah - And I think I saw a pred going really well for the first time at LBC. I didn't see much, but what I did looked amazingly different to the usual pred displays. Alex, perhaps there's hope for them yet at Bumpville?
Thought I had better put them under the photo section, or Mr Myall has to set this page to load the night before entering a reply

Another fun days racing, thanks to everyone as usual who sets it all up for us.
A day of mixed fortunes again today, there doesn't seem to such a thing as a small accident anymore, they are all big crashes now... and expensive!
Still, without my new fan club it could have been a disappointing day, but they kept the spirits up
Well done to John and Ben, the new chumps... er, champs. It was nice to have a race with lil' Dave too, a little gutted I messed up the last final, it was shaping up to be another good race.
Lets hope they allow LiPo at the regionals next year, it will be a really good dice I think.
See you all soon peeps

Inputting the figures and letting the computer sort - This is how the EWS Pairs Championship construction points stand (with a biase toward alphabetical order )
Thinking of buying car - well you can't argue with alphabetical fact. That's right, buy a BJ4WE, convert it to an S4 with Atomic Carbon, then for the final transformation send it "Botch Enterprises" and you too can bathe in glory at the top of the "Alphabetically-biased-conveniently-forgetting-final-points" EWS Pairs Constructors Championship!

Hi All, a very good meeting indeed.
A big thank you to Jim & Sal for making it happen.
Mixed day for me , but even in the last race way out in front the slipper snags on the battery and then no power just lots of slipper
Dan needs to check his hubs are tight but instead he was at Andy's new club getting lost.
See you all at round 15.

What a great meeting - the pairs is always one of my favourite meetings of the year & it didn't disappoint this time around.
Big thanks to John - he was superb in the finals - all those weeks of hassling him were worth it
Had some great races with Ben H & Jim in the finals. Must have been nibbling at Jim for four laps, he was as cool as a cucumber, either a great display of defensive driving or me being rubbish. He kept shouting 'Wait Ben' from down the rostrum - it now makes sense - wait until I've finished! |

First off, a ginormous THANKS to Paul for his generosity (again!).
Jeez, it doesn't get any easier, this racing lark! I put as much concentration into me last 2 races as I've used throughout the rest of the year! How I managed to keep Ben C and then Ben H at bay, I'll never know . I could feel Ben C's breath on the back of me neck! (I was just trying to tell you to stay cool and bide your time for an opening Ben C, rather than spoil a good battle . I could see you were getting frustrated!).
Lady Luck smiled on me in qualifying enabling me to get a clean start and stay out of trouble but, unfortunately, she abandoned me in the Finals and had to grapple for every point. It was bloody good though!
Very impressed by young Thomas Watkins, a star of the future if ever there was; and hat's off to young Matt Raven- let's hope we see more of him, and dad Jon.
Well done to John & Ben C (Ben is now officially the club's most successful pairs partner!); David & young Thomas; and Alex & Andy S. for their respective Final triumphs.
Finally, many, many thanks to Sal for braving the cold (she wasn't feeling too good and just couldn't get warm all day); and to my partner George, what a guy! To pinch John's words (well almost) from another post: This year's Runners-up will be next year's Champions! _________________ According to James Douglas Morrison 'the West is the best', but I'm stickin' with the 'East'! |

Yep, thanks Paul, God only knows what you tell the wife each time though

Funny, it was the other way round for me, I was crap in qualiy, totally forgot how to drive
Really thought I was going to cock it up for Ben's chances of the win, but it all came good in time for the finals

Agreed, he drove bloody well in the race I had with him, took me 2 or 3 laps to get past , stunning drive yesterday.

Well done fella, we'll have to see about making it 5 times next year

Thanks Sal, can't be much fun sitting in a cold field watching people play with toy cars when your not well

Not if Ben and I have anything to do with it they won't
Bloody good meeting though, sets us up nice for the climb to the end of the Club Champs _________________ Light a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day, but light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

As always - many thanks to the LBC team for running a very enjoyable race day and our sponsor Paul for kindly providing the silverware.
It's always a pleasure to race in a friendly & competitive atmosphere and the pairs event has that extra added element - responsibility! It makes a nice change to race as a team instead of an individual.
I'm not surprised Ben was stuck behind Jim for 4 laps - he really is a tricky old customer and one of the hardest guys to pass on the track! Talking of tricky customers, my closest 2 races of the day were against BenH 1 - 1 i think at the end of it and thoroughly enjoyable they were to!
Congrats to all the final winners and hats off to Ben and John for their well-deserved pairs title victory!
