Hold fire on purchasing all new LiPo's.  In October TP are releasing some new Cells which are going to trounce the current ones on the market.

Also, if your buying chargers look at getting ones that aren't going to Limit you on charging amps Wink

5000mAh at 5C is going to mean 25Amp charge rates!!!!

From the horses mouth.............

The TrakPower Dark Series gives the most punch ever seen before with up to a whopping 80C burst capability! and that's not all, we have smashed charging times as well, with up to 5C charge rates the Dark series can be recharged in a fraction of the time utilising the next generation battery chargers.

The Dark Series is designed to meet the exacting requirements of the BRCA and EFRA.

The TrakPower Dark Series features 5000mAh 40C, 4600mAh 35C Saddle Pack and entry level 3650mAh 35C pack.

You can pre-order them through me for £220.00 for 1 pack.  They will personally delivered with a beaming smile.

Or you can wait and order them from a shop for what I can imagine to be a lot less than the above.

In short - no idea.  But I would hazard a guess at £59.99 for the entry and £79.99 for the Top end.  I don't reckon they'll undercut as the USP shows massively reduced charging times.  Which means requiring less packs, which would be your overall saving.

Place your bets!

Does sound good, lets hope they are built to a higher standard then the current ones, the saddles they sell at the mo, are made from cheese!

If the new ones aren't a whole lot better built, no way would I think of charging at 5C.

Can be charged up to 5c. Personally, I can't see those sort of charge rates being good for the life of the battery! And I don't know what you guys think, but I'm not sure if bags more horsepower is what's required in off road racing? The present output is more than enough for bumps and jumps.

I'm sorry, I've just read the above. What was I thinking. MORE POWER!! Muh hah haa!

Ah, but the charge rate isn't about the Punch and power it's all about how long it takes.    I remember as a small child I had a remote control car.  You know the tesco ones.  Rechargable batteries would take 16 hours, last 2 minutes.  Now, the run time and waiting for charge is near identical.  As this new stuff fiters, it can only be a good thing Very Happy

Also - It appears that the 5C is not reducing lifespan with the new cells!

Also - The results from the price guess: -

RRP: -
3600 £ 59.99
4650 £79.99
5000 £84.99
