Low turnout but thoroughly enjoyable. Great to have three Andys there today.
1 - A. East - To keep John in his box
2 - A Emrich - To shake off those cursed cobwebs
3 - Andrew FLT Champ - Let down by the inevitable breakage of a ZX5 shock tower! Glad you got some races under your belt before it went though. Hope you get a car sorted soon. There is the sponsored handicap meeting which you'll have a good chance of winning! Keep us posted!
Big thank you to Sal from Andrew and myself for the Spektrum Transmitter!
Can't believe how good the weather was!
Steve T - Very very many thanks for the spare today - had some great battles with you today - even if I did come out second best to them
- Zipper, would have been a very very interesting meeting if you could have been there today. I have found a great picture for your desktop - http://img152.imageshack.us/my.php?image=4wdpf5.jpg

Yep, a thoroughly enjoyable days racing- though I can't help thinking some wise ol' man's saying of "slower is quicker" lost me the 2wd "A", but all credit to Ben C., he hung on in there and outmanoeuvred me going into the last lap. Well done Ben!
Despite winning almost everything over the last year (almost every race in fact!), I couldn't help but feel sorry for John- it seems he had a whole years breakages in one day! Still, I'm sure it will only strengthen his resolve- "he'll be back!".
AE was in his usual 'Premier League' flight and, apart from a couple of close-ones, was unstoppable in 4wd. I like the look of those D4s!
Steve T and Ben H have both been improving their form of late, and both drove well again yesterday. A top three finish in 4wd for Lee looks under threat! . Andy S drove well today, as well. A great improvement on last week's performance.
Three debutants at Bradfield this week: Andrew R (racing Ben H's ZX5) drove very well until the ZX5 (as is it's wont) fell apart. Dave A., likewise, was going well, but had to leave early to fix his Full Scale car and last, but not least, Steve C. with his vintage Losi Jr.2, showed he'd still got it after 15 years or so out-of-the-saddle, as it were! Well done to all three of you. Finally.... Juddy a new B4 is on the cards....and a Spectrum!
"slower is quicker.....but only up to a point!" _________________ According to James Douglas Morrison 'the West is the best', but I'm stickin' with the 'East'!

Must say that I don't think I've ever spat the dummy out, (or spat the car full tilt into a hedge ) quite like I did yesterday, had been looking forward to it all week, only for it to go very badly wrong
Got to say it was probably my worse meeting since I first got a Pred in 95, when the poxy thing would break before you even got to the first corner, oh the fun of helping to develop a car Can't remember the Yok having so many stupid problems, the B44 on the other hand, I used to expect it of it, but lately thought that it was all behind it.
Would say that the lowest moment was actually a race I finished (not many of those yesterday!), when I had Andy well under control, only for a wheel to melt its hex, so I only had 3wd
Still, I guess I was paying for having a bloody good meeting last week
At least somehow I've come out of this week with a very slightly bigger lead in the 4wd Championship then I had going in, so can't be all bad
I will come back, and with an answer to Andy's death ray, thats 2 meetings its gone wrong for me since he came up with that, must be something to it _________________ Light a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day, but light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

Welcome to my world John, it is a world of pain and suffering and cursing!
So, my first meeting after a year out, and it was business as usual...
Got to the track, had a good number of practice laps without any problems at all! Needless to say, first race, not doing too badly, and my motor decides that it no longer loves me like it used to and gives up the ghost. After much debate, it is decided that the motor isn't going to play anymore today! As is always the case at LBC, someone came to my rescue (thanks Mark) and gave me a replacement motor. So after much cursing and soldering, the new motor is in and I actually complete a heat, only for my motor clamp to give up the ghost in the next one!!
At least I got into the A final (first and only time) lol! Really enjoyed the final, and actually finished it!
I must be a glutton for punishment, as I still really enjoyed myself. When it was actually moving, the XX4 was handling far better than I remember it ever doing, and I actually managed to keep it on all 4 wheels for most of the time!
In short, I'm hooked again and will be back to claim my prize in the Handicap on the 11th! _________________ If Ignorance is bliss, then knock the smile off my face. |

Hi guys,
Thanks again for another stella meeting yesterday.
I felt so sorry for Johnboy, I have never seen such a long list of problems in a single days racing. Having said that, there was something about John driving his car flat out into the hedge that really tickled me! lol!
I hope it wont be too long before I can make another visit, i'm really enjoying driving at the moment.
Because it has been such a huge success, I have decided to continue development of the death ray, there is no escape!
See you guys soon
Andy |

I'm going to put mirrors all over my cars, hopefully it'll bounce these damn Death Rays off somewhere else
Best bit about me driving my car into the hedge, was I was leaving it there, was packing up and going home when Andy brought it over to me, still turned on & covered in grass and bits of hedge
Just for a while, untill another problem arrived, it looked alot like last year between Andy and I, at some point this year, I promise you'll get a good race out of me mate _________________ Light a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day, but light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

Bugger.....it just goes to show how much notice we take of one another's signatures.
No one has asked "what does the COS after your name stand for?"
Here's one for AE's signature:

Dear Jim,
I spend a great deal of time reading other member's signatures and I have been wondering for quite some time now, what does the COS after your name stand for? _________________ If Ignorance is bliss, then knock the smile off my face. |

The lyrics are Queens of the Stoneage unless I'm much mistaken, but the COS has me baffled. _________________ If Ignorance is bliss, then knock the smile off my face.
