Great weekend fellas!
It was great to back out there and racing again
I can't until the next event (that I can do) but next time I'll make sure to wheel out the raffle prize Cat for a run.
As always, many thanks to all those involved with assisting in the smooth running of the meeting. In particular, Wiggles for providing the trailer / van and his time to transport the gear - I hope the Mrs. Wiggles can see the positives to racing RC cars and that there could be far worse things her husband could be doing!

FIRST OFF, OODLES AND UMPTEEN THANKS TO W. FOR ALL HIS TIME AND TRANSPORTATION EXPERTISE. WHAT A GUY!.....AND THANKS TO BEN H, LEE, ANDYEM & ANDY E FOR THEIR HELP IN MOVING AND LAYING THE TRACK...AND WHAT A TRACK!
ALSO MANY THANKS TO MARTYN OF 'SPORT MATTERS' FOR KINDLY SPONSORING THIS YEAR'S EVENT.
Well, from the Club's perspective....what a day! Glorious weather, tons of spectators and loads of good racing. A pat on the back to all those who took part. Congrats to Andy for another flawless display in securing the 4wd win, and to George for lifting the 2wd spoils.
For myself it was, as seems to be the trend at this event, a string of retirements and mishaps. The only decent race I had was the opener when coming home 2nd behind Zipper. From there on in it was all down hill! , and driving like a left-handed mammary gland for the most part didn't help matters.
Anyway, enough wingeing, thanks to George for the loan and mechanical upkeep of the B44, just sorry: I didn't do the car justice, and for the breakages! |

A brilliant day, and a brilliant atmosphere, a lot of banter about the place. What more could you ask for?
It kind of makes it clear in my mind that the sport (some call it a hobby... each to their own) needs to be put out there in the publics eye... I would have thought that our corner of the field was the most visited of the entire show, some peeps staying for a short visit, others I noticed stayed trackside for the whole event.
It's one of those things that anyone can have a crack at, but when it is right in front of them they can't help but watch it... and once they have watched it, they want to have a go.
If we are able to do more events like the MCS it would help not just LBC as a club, but also help to bring in new people.
The track was really nice, and I will have to hold my hands up, the fly-over didn't just play, it played very well. A good feature and a good talking point for the people watching.
3-leg finals was an unexpected bonus, more track time always makes for a happy Eastie
See you all soon peeps

It was a cracking days racing. Its great to race in front of a crowd with all the cheers and jeers .
The cross over was great fun for me. I was pushing the limits of just how fast i could go underneath it without smashing into the frame of the jump.
The back banking section was simply awesome once it dried out. I was commiting so hard through the chicane at the back that if i would have got it wrong i think i would have landed in the housing estate out the back of the school grounds
Definately need to do more of these races at other events to raise of the profile of LBC and RC racing in general
Just had a quick search on youtube and it seems that mr Hubbard has formed a bit of a fan club

All burnt and red here too..
Just glad i could help out the weekend with the club , so no thanks needed but it is good to know you all care
Jim said he has been asked to do two more shows this year so if ya all liked it that much and we can all pull together to make it happen????
Had the best 2wd races ever for me and the car just felt so right i may have to stay with it for a while yet?
Any how see ya all soon and it was a top day for me even if it did feel like i was running a kinder garden or nursery most of the day..
Also who liked the new pit table? (just big enouth for my spares)
